Volgens de gegevens van Billboard.com is het album op dit moment het 4e best verkochte album van de Verenigde Staten. Indrukwekkende getallen allemaal, maar uiteindelijk gaat het natuurlijk niet om de cijfertjes, het gaat er om dat het evangelie verspreid wordt over de hele wereld; Until The Whole World Hears.

Het evangelie verspreiden is een levenstaak. En welke band kan dat nu beter verwoorden met muziek dan Casting Crowns? GMI Music heeft op 1 november de wereldwijde primeur van de nieuwe CD ‘Until The Whole World Hears’ van deze supergroep in moderne christelijke muziek.

Dat Casting Crowns een ‘supergroep’ genoemd kan worden, is logisch als je alleen al naar de cijfers kijkt. Miljoenen verkochte CDs, vele hits en een nog altijd sterk groeiend aantal fans in alle leeftijdsgroepen.  Toch is het succes ook te verklaren door de oprechtheid van de band en haar volharding in haar eerste prioriteit. De groep is sinds het begin van haar muzikale avontuur trouw aan het jeugdwerk van de Eagle’s Landing Baptist Church in Atlanta. De songs die zanger Mark Hall vanuit dat werk schrijft, blijken sinds het debuut van Casting Crowns bijzonder effectief en populair onder jongeren, maar ook onder ouderen! Veel christenen herkennen hun dagelijkse uitdagingen, vragen en dilemma’s in de teksten. Ook Nederland bleef niet onberoerd en liederen als ‘Praise You With The Dance’ werden vertaald voor de Opwekkingsbundel. Kerken pakken de muziek ook op en in menige zondagse dienst klinken dan ook al liederen als ‘Who Am I’.

Met ‘Until The Whole World Hears’ blijkt de band haar missie scherper dan ooit voor ogen te hebben. Discipelschap in een roerige maatschappij is het thema van deze nieuwe CD, uitgewerkt in gloednieuwe hits als ‘Until The Whole World Hears’, ‘If We’ve Ever Needed You’ en een geweldig eigen arrangement van de hymn ‘Joyful, Joyful’. De nieuwe songs hebben allemaal de bekende Casting Crowns ingrediënten: herkenbaarheid, inspiratie voor het dagelijks leven en een duidelijke oproep om discipelschap in het dagelijkse maatschappelijke leven in de praktijk te brengen.

Casting Crowns is niet alleen in Amerika grensverleggend bezig op deze manier. Steeds meer kijkt de groep over de grenzen heen. Zo heeft ze dit jaar opnieuw opgetreden op een muziek en kunstfestival in Noord-Korea; een bijzondere gebeurtenis voor een getuigende christelijke band! ‘Until The Whole World Hears’ wordt zo op meer dan één manier in de praktijk gebracht.
